In 2018, I read a book: 7 Effective Habits of Highly Effective People; In this book, the author suggests following a weekly timetable for the most efficiency without locking yourself in a daily schedule. So I want to make myself highly efficient, don’t I? That is why I have decided to kind of try to maintain a diary for 2019. Well initially I was going to print out a template and then bind 52 copies of that together and just be done with it. But then vanity kicked in (sue me) and I went out and got a good hardcover diary. I used to write in a diary when I was a kid. I went something like this:
Woke Up. Brushed. Ate Kacchi Dabeli (A favorite food item.) Went to college. Boring. Home. Played RS. (I don’t play now but i used to play RuneScape a lot when I was younger) Ate Dinner. Slept.
As you can see I am not the most eloquent guy. I am trying harder now but forgive me for making you read all of this rambling. I did this for a year and a half. Now I am going to keep a diary for 2019. Not the kind where I write about what I did everyday. But when a day is good I often feel like writing it down so I can remember it later. Even the short sentences you read above give me a base to remember the day by. For 2019 I am mostly going to create a list of things I hope to do that day and carry on the things I don’t complete that day. It is 6th January today and I feel that I have had partial success in achieving my goal.
I add a mix of easy to do and ambitious tasks in my list. It gives me great satisfaction to strike things off of it. I just hope that by the end of the year none of my tasks have carried over for too long and that I do not make the mistake of adding a lot of easy tasks to make myself seem more productive.
Another reason why I decided to keep a diary this year is that I feel that this is going to be a great year. There is going to be a lot of change in my life this year. The 2 greatest things this year are that I am graduating from my college and I am (hopefully to a great college) going to go for my MS. There is so much to do this year and I feel that without the anchor of my goals of hard paper, I may get overwhelmed and end up taking the easy path.

Anyways, If anybody did read this and reached here, Happy New Year and have a good year! Bye!
